Your weekend: music, books and the occasional turkey.

November 20, 2008

Since next weekend is Thanksgiving, you may be looking for a few low-key activities this weekend; wanting to stay close to home and mellow out before the infusion of or traveling to visit friends and family. We've got some great activities that will fit right in with those plans - and, if you're still looking for a fun, frolicking and occasionally LOUD time; we've got that, too!

You can put this in the loud category: Baby Loves Disco is BACK. Time to get your boogie on at the last Baby Loves Disco event in Seattle until February of 2009 - this months theme is "pajama party'! (Saturday only.)

The Woodland Park Zoo's Annual Turkey Toss takes place this weekend - check out the feeding schedule to see who will get the turkeys and when. (Saturday only.)

Already thinking about Christmas? Then Yulefest is for you. (Saturday and Sunday.)

And our local libraries will be full of songs, books and food this weekend. Enjoy Super Saturday Story Time set at the Covington Public Library with music and storytime. Local children's musical artist, Recess Monkey, headlines the Des Moines and Burien Public Libraries on Saturdays with their Holiday Show. They'll also be at the Auburn Public Library on Saturday. Parents are their children will together enjoy Food and Books at the Mountlake Terrace Library, where you listen to stories about food and then performs some simple, hands-on cooking. (Saturday only.)
