It's raining, BUT...

January 08, 2009

...it's supposed to stop on Friday. I truly hope that wherever you are; you are warm and safe. Looking for things to do for your preschooler during our relentless rain storm? Here's an old Seattle Savvy post on how to have fun when the rain won't stop.

Looking for things to do this weekend? We've got your plans right here.

It's the very last weekend to experience the Adventures of Mr. Potato Head at the Seattle Children's Museum. The 2,500 square foot exhibit is designed to develop school readiness and academic skills for young children, focusing on literacy, problem solving, mathematics, science and social studies. (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.)

Need something to thrill your preschooler AND you? Then the Museum of Flight may have the exhibit just for you. They are currently hosting an exhibit called "The Berlin Airlift - A Legacy of Friendship"; celebrating the 60th anniversary of the airborne relief supplied by the United States when the Soviets blocked ground transport in and out of the city. (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.)

Need some craft time? Then head over to your local Lakeshore Learning Center to have some hands on fun and make a festive mask. I wonder if they would let me participate, too? (Saturday only.)

It's the Seattle Center Winterfest Winter Solstice Fire Festival this weekend. Yah, you got me, it's not ACTUALLY the winter solstice now, but this has been rescheduled to THIS weekend to the record-breaking snows we experienced in December - so make the most of the opportunity! (Saturday and Sunday.)
